Dippel Represents Sussex at NJCAA Golf National Championship

CHAUTAUQUA, N.Y. – The weather in upstate New York provided a perfect backdrop for the NJCAA Golf National Championship held this past week at Chautauqua Golf Club, where Sussex County Community College freshman golfer Jacob Dippel proudly represented the Skylanders on the national stage.

Dippel, a graduate of High Point Regional High School, qualified for the NJCAA National Championship and finished the four-day tournament with a total score of 318, capping off an impressive freshman campaign and a historic season for the Sussex golf program.

Head Coach Bob Walsh expressed his pride in Dippel's accomplishment and performance throughout the championship.

"It is truly amazing to have a golfer qualify for the national tournament in just the first year of our program," said Walsh.

Athletic Director Todd Poltersdorf echoed those sentiments and praised Dippel for the way he represented Sussex against the nation's top junior college golfers.

"The course was extremely difficult, with very fast greens that challenged every golfer in the field," Poltersdorf said. "For Jacob to qualify for the national championship and compete the way he did is a tremendous achievement."

Poltersdorf also highlighted the remarkable progress made by the program during its inaugural season and expressed optimism about its future.

"Our student-athletes and Coach Walsh have done an outstanding job building this program from the ground up," Poltersdorf added. "Coach Walsh has done an amazing job, and the future of Sussex golf looks very bright."

Dippel's appearance at the national championship marks a significant milestone for the Sussex County Community College golf program. In just its first year of competition, the Skylanders have already produced a national qualifier, demonstrating the strong foundation that has been established and signaling continued success for years to come.
