Falleni named Region XIX Co-Player of the Year

Dom Falleni has been named as the Region 19 Co-Player of the Year, and Offensive Player of the Year for 2021. 

Falleni, a Lenape Valley product, has gathered 18 goals and dished out 10 assists to date for the first year Sussex Lacrosse team.

"He's a ton of fun to watch play this game." said Head Coach Steve Manitta, "Dom does everything that you would expect a player of the year nominee to do. He makes everyone around him better, is incredibly unselfish, but also has the ability to break down defenses if they don't show interior support." 

The all region team is made up of 5 attackmen, 3 midfielders, 2 face-off specialists, 2 close defenders, and 1 goalie.

Sophomore midfielder Matt Sciancalepore, freshman attackman Grant Parker, and freshman defender Matt Bruno were also named to the 2021 All Region Team.

Sciancalepore has been a stellar 2-way midfielder for the Skylanders throughout the season registering 7 points, and leading the team in ground balls with 38.  Newton native Grant Parker has exploded onto the scene for Sussex in his first college season with 13 goals and 4 assists. The left handed freshman has been a integral part of the offensive team in year one. Freshman long stick Matt Bruno was named as one of the top defenders in Region XIX for 2021. The Jefferson Falcon product has helped lead the teams defensive efforts while also playing long stick midfield, and contributing to the extra man unit.

The Skylanders head to Mercer County Community College Sunday April 25th for a 12:00 start, and then end their regular season in PA on Monday May 3rd against Del Tech for the 2021 Region XIX Championship.
